Update on RFSA Conference 2011
On behalf of the Organising Committee, we would like to thank you for your participation and efforts in attending the Rural Fire Service Association Conference 2011 held in Coffs Harbour last month, despite the floods! Almost 400 delegates attended, all contributing to the success of the Conference.
The RFSA Conference 2011 delivered an exciting, motivating and stimulating program and we extend our thanks and appreciation to the Speakers for sharing their valuable insights and knowledge over the two day Conference.
A special thank you to all exhibiting organisations and our Conference Dinner Sponsor Gilbert & Roach Huntingwood Isuzu Trucks for their invaluable contribution and support.
We hope you enjoyed the RFSA Conference 2011, as well as your time and experiences in Coffs Harbour!
Invitation
As Chairman of the Organising Committee and President of the RFSA, it gives me great pleasure to invite you to the RFSA 2011 Annual Conference of the Association, taking place in beautiful Coffs Harbour, North Coast of NSW. The theme for the Conference is “Facing the Challenges Together”.
I am sure your experiences at the Conference will be extremely rewarding and challenging, rewarding in the sense of meeting with friends and colleagues from across the Services, in an environment of participation with a range of speakers to give a better understanding of the role in which we as members of a Rural Fire Service undertake to serve our many and diverse Rural Communities, and challenging in the sense of the future directions of the Rural Fire Services in providing this support to these Rural Communities in an ever changing environment, together with the personal commitment and motivation to support our Services and the Community.
The Association in supporting the members seeks to provide the opportunity for one and all to gain from the experiences enjoyed at such an event.
We encourage you to bring your families along, stay an extra day or two and enjoy the endless things to see and do in the Coffs Region.
I look forward to seeing you there with our many friends and colleagues.
Brian McKinlay, AFSM
President
RFSA Conference 2011: Facing the Challenges Together
Who Should Attend?
RFSA Conference 2011 is Australia's leading emergency services conference, focusing on practical issues that affect the operation of a highly professional and competent rural fire service.
Coverage of concerns such as technology, climate change, communications, community relations, recovery and welfare will appeal to anyone broadly concerned with or directly involved in emergency services management.
It is the year's outstanding opportunity for information exchange and knowledge sharing between volunteer fire fighters and the NSW Rural Fire Service, emergency response agencies, land managers and academics.
Host

The NSW Rural Fire Service Association is a State wide non-partisan, member association that represents the interest of the 70,000+ members of the world’s largest volunteer fire fighting service. The Association ensures its members are taken into account in the decision making process of the NSW Rural Fire Service. One of the key elements of the Association is its governance structure, with representation drawn from sixteen Divisions covering New South Wales. So much has been, and continues to be, achieved by the Association which highlights the hard work and dedication of its members as the cornerstone of its success.
